Happy Friday! I decided to turn Give Us Free into a weekly Friday roundup of my $Free.99 (or really deeply discounted) finds. No job, waning income, and finite savings are no reasons to be on the sick and shut-in list. Bump that.
Admittedly these deals and steals are not yielding epic savings. I could easily pay for all of them if I wanted. But why afford what I don’t have to? I was reading My Debt Epiphany and this nugget resonated with me:
So with that being said, on to the goodies…
- Free bread from Jimmy John’s – I went back to the well on this one. I called my neighborhood location and asked for two loaves of day old bread. The manager told me to come by at closing. For the effort of a four block walk and a phone call, I received five fresh baked loaves. (Value $12.50)
- Three 1-hour personal training sessions – I previously mentioned that I canceled my gym membership at the beginning of the month. Although I hadn’t been using my membership regularly for the last three months, I had accumulated a bunch of member points that I’d never redeemed. Points are good for everything from apparel to guest passes and even a free month of membership. I am a masochist so I cashed in my points for five sessions with an “elite” personal
terroristtrainer. I did two of the sessions last week and the remaining three this week. I hurt. (Value $240)
- Rollerskating – Mystery shopping FTW! Once again I’m getting paid to have some fun. Check out Amusement Advantage for fun activities in your area. The pay usually covers expenses for you and a guest and a bit extra to pocket. I get an afternoon of rollerskating, bowling, food, and games for $75+ and my opinion on how it all went.
That’s all for me this week. What freedom did you find in the last seven days?
